ROLE:

BNP Paribas S.A., Dublin Branch consists of 3 functions: Depositary, Global Custody and Fund Dealing Services (FDS).
Within the FDS team, its main functions are to manage the onboarding of new clients, execute and settle client orders in underlying target funds, and act as the point of contact on clients’ FDS queries.
This specific role will support the Head of FDS managing the FDS team, its functions and resources, be accountable for the timely execution and settlement of client orders, and ensure full compliance with local and group procedures.
It requires team leadership, a complete knowledge of all workload and systems and ability to assess all risk aspects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
§ Assist in the management of the FDS Department on a day to day basis to provide Custody services to our clients.
§ Ensure the Operations team and the Regulatory/Reporting teams perform and complete all functions as required
§ Continuous review of the Custody operations to review and mitigate risk and ensure there is no operational incidents and exposure for BNP Paribas
§ Ensuring that all open key risk items are addressed in a clear & timely manner.
§ Ensure that departmental controls/procedures/checklists are reviewed and maintained on a regular basis.
§ Look to continuously enhance controls and reduce risk with all manual aspects of the FDS teams.
§ Regular interaction with the department managers and the Branch Manager on all aspects of the service.
§ Responsible for ensuring BNP Paribas management are provided with monthly management information reports.
§ Ownership of the oversight functions with outsourced locations such as Static Data and Reconciliations. Ensure adequate controls and agreements are in place in addition to regular oversight meetings.
§ Management of staff within the department, provide guidance and support as and when required.
§ Participation in additional projects that may be required,e.g. onboarding, testing of new functionalities within systems and provide details analysis and input in to such tasks.
§ Facilitate the delivery of client on-boarding within the required deadlines
§ Understand the changing needs of our industry and keeping up with current product offerings
§ Responsible for solving issues and incidents and monitoring delivery of solutions and overall service to client and the wider internal organization.
§ Help foster and cultivate a change culture where we strive to provide the highest quality service, drive new enhancements, develop best practice and support the build out of capacity and scale within the organization.
§ Lead and motivate staff, particularly direct reports.
§ Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behaviour; ensuring staff accountability and adherence to company policies and procedures.
§ Provide coaching, guidance and support to staff on technical, professional and client issues
§ Monitor and appraise the performance of team - providing regular formal and informal feedback .
§ Other duties within the Custody Department as and when assigned by management
§ Ensure all relevant procedures and policies i.e. Group, Local and specific departmental, are followed in relation to the end to end business revenue cycle and specific departmental responsibilities.

  • High knowledge of the custody function, regulatory requirements and the risks associated with each process
