POSITION OVERVIEW
Wright Hall offers catered residential accommodation to 428 undergraduate and postgraduate students of ANU. In line with its motto - Tenacitas, Comitas & Gratia, Wright Hall’s community aims to provide its residents an environment that is respectful, restorative and growth oriented during their transitioning to tertiary study.
The Deputy Head of Residence role is responsible for provisioning a high quality pastoral care program for Wright Hall’s residents. This includes expectation management of 14 Senior Residential Scholars and two Community Coordinators. Further, the role coordinates support for those students whose circumstances require additional external resources. The role also plays an integral part in supporting a co-curricular program that enriches the academic and social aspects of Wright Hall’s residents.
Reporting to the Head of Residence, the Deputy Head of Residence also plays a strong supporting role in meeting the strategic and operational objectives of Wright Hall and ANU.
The role requires someone who has strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to support a diverse array of tertiary students. A strong background developing and mentoring young adults and experience in social programming work is highly beneficial.
