ABOUT US
The UCL Eastman Dental Institute (UCL Eastman) is a world-leading, academic centre for postgraduate dentistry and translational research, based in London. UCL has educated doctors since 1834 and the UCL Medical School (UCLMS) sits in the heart of London. Working closely with several major teaching hospitals it provides a truly world class medical education.
The role is offered as a secondment for one year to work on specific projects within the two Divisions with a particular focus on, but not limited to the proposed merger of the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and the UCL Medical School.
ABOUT YOU
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent or substantial relevant experience), you will have the ability to project plan and operationalise strategic documents as well as proven track record in administration and management within an HEI or similar environment. You will have proven success in business planning and in the development and effective implementation of corporate aims and objectives. The ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to a wide audience and the ability to lead, negotiate with and influence senior colleagues is essential.

Responsibilities:
The Deputy Institute Manager is a member of the Professional Services Team of both UCL Medical School and UCL Eastman Dental Institute in the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS).
This Professional Services Team is led by the Joint Institute Manager and is responsible for project management, academic administration, human resources (including recruitment), marketing and communications, and finance.
The Deputy Institute Manager will oversee general and specific duties to progress the work of the Institute. They will assist the Institute Manager in leading the professional service operations of the Divisions, delivering operational excellence across all administrative activities.
The post is graded at Grade 8, the annual salary for which ranges from (£51,474 - £60,521 including the London Allowance)
The post is available as secondment for up to 12 months for internal candidates.
