Description:
Exciting opportunity for the individual who wants to join Moorfields Eye Hospital. We are currently looking for a self-motivated, pro-active individual with both excellent time management and organisational skills to join our Medical imaging team as a Deputy Lead for Medical Imaging Department.
As Deputy Lead, you will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with both excellent time management and organisational skills. You will be responsible for the management of the medical imaging team to provide high quality Diagnostic Imaging Services at Moorfields’ including the Trust’s satellite and Virtual Clinics, Private Patients and Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre (RDCEC).
The role encompasses supporting junior staff to develop skills and help to embed a continuous quality improvement culture across the service. The post-holder will act as an exemplar and professional role-model in embracing core values of , excellence, equity and kindness.
As a leader you will work both clinically and managerially to undertake day to day supervision of the team working with the Head of Department to ensure safe staffing across all sites.
To provide senior leadership to the Medical Imaging at City Road and other sites ensuring patients receive quality care and receive an efficient service during any stage of their care.
To provide advanced knowledge and t o be highly skilled in the full range of routine and specialised imaging techniques, with expert knowledge of Ophthalmic anatomy and diseases in order to guide and support the Medical Imaging team.

To lead, manage and motivate imaging staff, ensuring appropriate management structures, policies and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance.
To provide professional and personal support and assistance to all staff within the department.
To work with the Head of Imaging & Ultrasound to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective imaging care.
To troubleshoot and escalate any capacity and demand concerns to Head of Imaging & Ultrasound.
To liaise and work collaboratively with other stakeholders to effectively manage the day to day running of Service.
To ensure people management is effectively managed and in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures, seeking advice and support as necessary.
To undertake annual staff appraisals, ensuring completion of appropriate documentation and identification of development needs, in line with Trust Policy & Procedures.
To promote a positive and effective working environment by always motivating and communicating with staff through huddles and monthly staff meetings.
To organise and manage the rosters for the Medical imaging department including the adult and paediatric medical photography, and ultrasound teams ensuring there is sufficient staff allocation at all responsible sites.
To be highly skilled in the full range of routine and specialised imaging techniques, with expert knowledge of Ophthalmic anatomy and diseases. Able to perform a range of clinical, diagnostic, and imaging examinations including:
Retinal imaging and image analysis using current standard techniques.
Slit lamp imaging of anterior segment of the eye using tropical stains.
Clinical imaging of the external eye and Ocular Adnexa.
OCT Imaging.
