Description:

We understand that balancing work & domestic life is challenging & that shift work doesn’t always suit everyone. Because we don’t currently routinely open at weekends or on Bank Holidays this role is a great opportunity for someone seeking to develop skills and knowledge, whilst working a more family-friendly shift pattern (Mon-Fri, between 8am & 6pm)
The OPD leadership team consists of a Band 7 Senior Sister/Manager & a group of Deputy Managers. The Deputy Managers hold responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the team & service delivery & enjoy significant autonomy & flexibility to shape service delivery & influence the departments culture and personality. Deputy Managers work flexibly to cover each other’s annual leave and provide leadership in all areas across all the 5 locations where we host clinics for specialities which include Haematology, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, ENT, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Diabetes and Endocrine, Pain, & Rehab.
The Deputy Manager duties include being a visible and approachable leader on the clinics, empowering staff to provide the best possible service by developing them to achieve their full potential and ensuring they have the resources required for them to do their jobs well. There are opportunities for service development, and you will be pivotal to the team’s success; you will take a leading role in writing SOPs, training staff, undertaking audit and investigations, and identifying opportunities and planning for improvement.
The successful candidate will have opportunity to grow and develop through work-based learning and peer support and through structured development programmes, offered by the organisation and HEIs. There may be an opportunity to undertake the British Orthopaedic Association ‘Casting Certificate’ for candidates who have experience in Orthopaedics.
We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.

We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage & civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. Recognising those communities that are underrepresented within our workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from you.
If you require support with your application please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.
We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
