Description:
AIA intends to significantly increase its exposure to private assets and as a result is designing and implementing the infrastructure and support needed to service this increased scale and complexity.
This position will provide day to day operational support for AIAIM’s private investments. In addition, the incumbent will contribute to the team’s effort to implement (in conjunction with Group Investment Services) the target state model to support AIAIM’s Alternative/Private Asset investment ambitions.
This position will ensure operational functions for private asset investments are performed on a timely and accurate basis by the Private Markets Service Team. The Team’s functions include, but not limited to:
- Monitor and broadcast all GPs’ capital call and distribution on a timely manner;
- Maintain an updated GP Portal access and GP contact list;
- Handle the capital call and distribution workflows, ensure trades are booked by respective responsible parties;
- Handle new investments setup in FO System and MO System;
- Act as contact point with GPs on cap call, distribution and undrawn commitment queries;
- Provide information to relevant portfolio managers to support input into Bloomberg AIM;
- Provide instructions to the Core Operations team for cash transfers between portfolios, where required, to ensure cash is available to fund investments.
- Find opportunities to enhance processes and workflows, improve efficiencies, and minimize operational risks.
- Work with the team in establishing and maintaining proper process documentation in alignment with the operational control environment.
- Participate in, contribute to, and provide support to Group and Company projects involving private asset investments.
Requirements:-
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking and Finance or related.
- At least 4 years work experience in an asset management company or private asset general partnership involved in the management of private investments.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end investment processes, controls and technologies for private assets.
- Knowledge of fund vehicles such as SICAV or Singapore unit trusts/VCC operate is an advantage.
- Ability to design and implement new or enhanced processes and controls.
- Experience in working and communicating with external service providers and fund managers.
- Capable in preparing financial and business analyses and preparing presentations.
- Strong communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in eFront system will be a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and accuracy in a fast paced environment.
- Team orientated, dedicated and open-minded working attitude.
