Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced, enthusiastic and committed health professional to join the Safeguarding Children Team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Named Nurse Safeguarding Children.
The post holder will have operational leadership responsibility for safeguarding children ensuring that structures, systems and processes are in place across the Trust and will report into the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children
To work in collaboration with the Trust’s Named Nurses for Safeguarding Children & Adults promoting high standards of professional practice within the Trust in safeguarding children.
To act as a resource of specialist knowledge and expertise providing safeguarding advice, supervision and support to Trust staff in relation to safeguarding children .
Support delivery of safeguarding practice within the Trust; to evaluate safeguarding practice and develop actions with relevant Deputy Heads of Nursing/Heads of Nursing/Matrons where required
To foster a culture of prevention, early and accurate identification and management of safeguarding concerns for the organisation to ensure it appropriately discharges and fulfils its safeguarding responsibilities

To develop and regularly review safeguarding children training and education for all staff groups.

  • To provide leadership cross site and deputise for the Named Nurse during leave and when required.

The post holder will provide expert advice and support on a daily basis to staff working across the Trust on all aspects of safeguarding. This will include highly complex, difficult and emotive situations.
In collaboration with Lead Named Nurses, develop and ensure effective safeguarding and processes are in place within the Trust for information sharing, training, safeguarding supervision and support.
In collaboration with Lead Named Nurses, to take an operational lead for ensuring relevant safeguarding children supervision program is in place for all staff mapped to receive safeguarding children supervision.
To be responsible for the development, implementation and review of Trust safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national bodies and best practice.
Contribute to relevant Local Safeguarding Partnership Board meetings and represent the Trust at relevant safeguarding multi-agency forums/sub-groups.
