Description:

The following are the core responsibilities of the Deputy Practice Manager. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. The Deputy Manager is responsible for: a. Supporting the practice manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
b. Providing leadership and guidance for the administrative and reception staff c. Ensuring staff adhere to policy and procedure at all times. d.
Complete staff 121s & appraisals e. Line manage all administrative and reception staff. f. Plan, implement and manage timetables for the entire clinical team.
g. Handle complaints in line with practice policy and complete annual complaints returns. h. Log and record significant events and ensure that that lessons are learned and shared as appropriate.
i. Manage practice recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, DBS checks, references and on boarding. j. Take ownership of issues and projects that do not have an existing place in the organisation.
k. Use initiative and problem-solving skills. l. Join PPG meetings and liaise with PPG as appropriate.
m. Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services n. Maintain the practices Facebook, website & NHS choices site. o.
Manage work streams such as Mailboxes, document management, Accurx, task lists and other work to ensure it is dealt with appropriately & in a timely manner. p. Minute & Organise practice Meetings. q.
Work with other managers and staff to ensure the smooth organisation and running of Flu, QOF & any other NHS, PCN or ICB scheme. Secondary Responsibilities In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Deputy Practice Manager may be required to: a. Deputise for the practice manager in their absence. b.
Support the practice manager in the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures. c. Act as the communication link between the management team and staff. d.
Represent the practice locally as required. e. Maintain a working knowledge of ICB and PCN initiatives. f.
Anything the Practice Manager or Partners reasonably request of you
