  • The Human Rights Division of VCAT processes applications relating to: Guardianship and Administration Powers of attorney Equal opportunity, racial and religious vilification, sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination Health and privacy information The Disability Act 2006 (Vic) and decisions made by the Mental Health Tribunal.
  • We are seeking a Deputy Registrar to join our Division to lead a team of staff and leaders responsible for the management of files from start to finish

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play an important role by leading and coaching their team/s to ensure the timely processing of applications, and effective support is provided to VCAT Members. The role maintains the Divisions outputs and builds their team capabilities and performance by providing effective feedback, support, direction and development opportunities.
This role works very closely with the second Deputy Registrar within HRD and the Registrar of the Division.

The role has a broad range of responsibilities each day including:

  • Managing a range of inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, VCAT members, staff within the division and other relevant users.
  • Providing training and support to new and existing staff
  • Developing and updating resources
  • Provide specialist knowledge of the processes within the Division to support projects and initiatives currently on foot at VCAT
  • Chair meetings and be the point of contact to relevant stakeholders
