Description:

Are you an experienced leader, currently managing delivery of operational services at an 8b level or above, with a keen interest in implementing transformative change? Are you passionate about delivering excellent outcomes for service users and their families?
We’re excited to announce a 12-month secondment opportunity for a dynamic and experienced operational leader to lead our Patient Flow team across Sussex. Reporting into the Managing Director for Patient Flow you will lead and develop the services relating to clinical bed management for adults and older adults, including those with dementia.
You will have excellent communication, analytical and operational skills with real commitment to provide the leadership to the bed management and MDIST teams and accurate and timely data. The successful candidate will be part of the National Discharge Frontrunner programme; working closely with the wider Divisional Leadership Teams and other SPFT services as well as external partners to deliver activity targets and maximise flow
Working closely with the Managing Director for Patient Flow you will lead and develop the services relating to clinical bed management for adults and older adults, including those with dementia.

THE POSTHOLDER WILL ALSO:

provide the senior operational leadership and management for the Bed Management and MDIST teams and oversee the operational development of the Discharge Hubs.
work closely with the other Deputy Service Directors, the wider Divisional Leadership Teams and other SPFT services as well as external partners.
be expected to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services including the effective and efficient management of all staff from all disciplines and health and social care resources to specifically deliver on the following key areas:

Job Description
The post holder will work closely with other Managing Directors, Service Directors, Clinical Directors and Directors of Nursing and Governance to enable the Trust to meet its overarching strategic goals as an organisation.
The successful applicant will establish and maintain effective and strategic relationships with a complex range of internal and external stakeholders, including other divisions and corporate teams, local community groups, ICS/ICB, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Primary Care Networks and NHS England.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering local and national targets, reducing waiting times, improving access to our services and achieving the Trust’s long-term strategy within available budgets.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Clinical Directors, Directors of Nursing and Quality, and professional leads to develop and manage systems and processes within the division, prioritising compliance with CQC standards and Trust policies.
The successful applicant will lead, empower and engage a workforce of clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver exceptional care and will be responsible for all aspects of human resources management.
The post holder will manage the divisional budget, ensuring that targets are met and that budget is spent to achieve the greatest benefit for the people we serve by demonstrating value for money.
The post holder will lead the development of annual and long-term strategic plans for the division with the Clinical Director, Director of Nursing and Governance, the divisional leadership team and corporate teams and contribute to the overarching Trust annual plan.
The successful candidate will establish, develop and deliver a robust internal performance management system enabling the Trust to adhere to plans, standards and targets while delivering response, safe and reliable patient care.
