Description:

THIS IS FOR ONE PERMANENT POSITION AND ONE 18-MONTH TERM (ANTICIPATORY PERMANENT). TA’S WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR EXISTING YG EMPLOYEES.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note that selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Post-secondary coursework in criminology, law, policing, investigations, enforcement, security or other related field
  • Significant experience using de-escalation techniques and negotiation skills
  • Significant experience in civil or criminal law enforcement in an unsecured environment e.g. in public and community settings
  • Experience in interpreting, applying and enforcing legislation

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Additional Information:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel to Yukon communities and remote locations
  • Working overtime with little or no notice
  • Wearing a uniform and personal protective equipment that includes a vest and a duty belt
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs
  • Driving in adverse conditions and or for extended periods of time
  • Crouching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs
