Description:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Ward Practitioner to lead the Ward (Stage 2 Recovery)
The Day Surgery Unit (DSU) is a high turnover unit currently running 5 Theatres, specialising in a range of surgical disciplines including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Plastics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Pain.
The role is an excellent opportunity to advance your clinical leadership skills and support education for team members within the surgical setting.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills who can empower and inspire a team.
Staff are expected to support other sites within the health board, when necessary, thus the successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility within their service.
The main duties of the role will oversee the post operative ward (2nd Stage Recovery), ensuring smooth patient flow, managing staff, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction, coordinating admissions and discharges.
The post holder will be expected to provide pre and post-operative care to elective patients. To deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
