REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering any discipline
  • Administrative experience in a design coordinator or engineering coordinator capacity
  • Experience working in rail systems is essential
  • Experience in working with Independent verifiers, management of escalation items
  • Experience in influencing key stakeholders on technical issues

Responsibilities:

  • In accordance with UGL Management System, prepare and maintain the Design Plan for the duration of the project.
  • Set up and administer the project design filing system.
  • Ensure that all elements of the design are coordinated between all design team members.
  • Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of design resources allocated to the project.
  • Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design.
  • Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements.
  • Endeavour to ensure that the design is executed such that the cost of the related constructed items, are within the project budget.
  • Ensure that the design team provides all necessary support to the procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Monitor external design consultants to ensure that the elements of their design (including verification) are coordinated with overall design, procurement and construction requirements.
  • Liaise with all relevant Authorities on design and construction permits and approvals.
  • Support onsite design and construction activities – onsite where required.
