Description:

Fast-growing, innovative, technology-led design and manufacturer, based in Sydney is looking for a Design Engineer to join the technical manufacturing team. This is a unique opportunity to work for one of the most exciting and forward-thinking companies in Australia within the consumer/professional product space.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering trade or relevant engineering tertiary qualification preferred
  • Significant experience in tooling, with a focus on injection moulding and automation design; from simple end-of-arm tooling to lights out automation cells
  • Significant experience in parametric design and simulation software
  • Proficiency in VISI CAD/CAM, Solidworks will be beneficial
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of engineering drafting
  • Demonstrated understanding of various manufacturing processes: turning, milling, grinding, wire-cut, EDM, injection moulding, pressure die casting
  • Practical knowledge of metals/plastics, properties, and finishing
  • Proficiency in process formulation and improvement
  • Good written and verbal communication to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of WH&S standards

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of projects from briefing through to production in a fast-paced product/tooling development environment
  • Timely design of moulds, tools, automation, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
  • Application of CAD skills to deliver design projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Timely creation of engineering drawings
  • Assisting other departments with design for manufacture of components
  • Ensuring a smooth flow of information to the tooling and manufacturing teams
