Bollinger Motors is seeking a Chassis/Powertrain Design Release Engineer (DRE). This position reports to the Mechanical Director and is an in-person role at the company’s Oak Park, MI headquarters.
Education, Skills and Knowledge

- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field required.
- Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems.
- Ability to Verify design using analysis and or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions, and assess risk.
- Experience with Root cause analysis (ex: 8D) required.
- Take responsibility for accuracy of detail drawings directly or as collaboration with designers.
- Vehicle launch experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities:
- Leading the development of concepts, prototyping, validation and launching them into production.
- Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced agile R&D engineering development environment where you are able to exercise freedom to innovate and explore new methods and solutions.
- Develop a class 4,5 and 6 Chassis system to satisfy our requirements.
- Support Front and Rear axle design changes and packaging issues.
- Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts.
- Evaluate technologies and product designs in compliance with company standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
- Manage product engineering, design and release for Body subsystems – includes Steering, Front and Rear Suspension systems, sway bar, and suspension hangers/brackets.
- Manage and work with all castings and stamping of different parts throughout the engineering process.
- Champion engineering deliverables – DFMEA / DVP&R / PFEA / Control Plan
- Perform CAE Analysis regularly.
- Dimensional Management and Dimensional Checking (GD&T) experience required.
