Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a design technology technician looking for a new role?
I am currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic DT technician for a secondary academy in Manchester.
The role is required from February on a full-time basis, initially until the Easter holidays, but may extend beyond.
The Role
School Design Technology Technician
Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 3.30pm
Duties include:-
Maintaining equipment.
Constructing and modifying technology equipment
Setting up materials for practical work including using circular saws, drills, sanders and heavy machinery to prepare wood, metals, plastics and other materials for student use
Using CAD/CAM equipment for 3D printing
Taking an active part in demonstrations and practical technology lessons
Ordering resources and keeping budgets.
Helping in practical lessons
Giving technical help to students.
Always meeting current health and safety standards.
COSHH qualification is required
Experience as a school technology technician, preferably in a good or outstanding UK school, supported by written references is desirable.

  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
