Description:

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Located in Delta, BC, Hi-Cube, in Office position.
The designer is responsible for the design of the storage system by interpreting written requests from salespeople and clients to establish a storage system proposal while considering the client’s products and space available as well as company standards. All drawings are completed in AutoCAD LT 2024

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite, and Windows, knowledge of MS Teams
  • Oral and written English mandatory, bilingualism an asset
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Enthusiasm to learn and utilize resources to problem-solve
  • High attention to detail, punctuality, and good problem-solving skills
  • Good organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent customer service via phone, email, or in person
  • Ability to work in a team, or as an individual
  • Reliable personal transport to Delta location
  • Special Certifications Required, one of:
  • Architectural Technology Diploma
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Engineering Design Technology Diploma
  • Or other related education with focus on utilizing AutoCAD

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AutoCAD to produce detailed and accurate drawings for steel pallet racking Systems, shelving, and automated lift modules for quoting and permitting purposes
  • Consultation and assistance with internal and external salespeople
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to understand project requirements and Specifications
  • Work closely with the production team to produce fabrication drawings
  • Preliminary estimates of members and components for imposed loads
  • Optimization of the proposed solutions
  • Generate Bill of Materials, or double check existing
  • Managing of workload timelines
  • Providing, or seeking verification of your work from a colleague
  • Preparations of installation drawings and finalization of “As Built” drawings
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and installation on relevant issues.
  • Undergo training by in-house and external suppliers to understand the products and services offered by the company.
  • Site visits are occasional, but may be required to confirm client layouts
  • Other tasks deemed necessary for the improvement or development of the role
  • Company travel is limited, but may include trips to Trade Shows, or Team Building events out of town, province, or country
