Description:

SALARY: £24,795 PER ANNUM

Our client is looking for an experienced Despatch Team Leader to join their team in Gloucester!
Reporting to the Despatch and Logistics Manager you will plan, direct, and coordinate staff and plant equipment for the purpose of all invoicing & dispatch operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a logistics environment and the ability to lead a team with confidence.

KEY SKILLS OF A DESPATCH TEAM LEADER

  • Proven experience in a team leadership role.
  • Previous experience within a logistics environment.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information in an effective and compelling manner.
  • High levels of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good standard of written and spoken English and Maths.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure equipment and cleanliness is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Monitor product standards and escalate where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities through the implementation of change management process and best practice.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is completed.
  • Plan all dispatch operations and manage courier systems.
  • Ensure all tasks relating to export shipping are carried out.
  • Management of the goods invoicing system (NLS).
  • Monitor daily targets vs outputs and produce KPI’s.
  • Provide technical contact support for customer service when required.
  • Stay informed on legislation impacting despatch operations and make relevant changes where necessary.
  • Effectively communicate with management team and department employees.
  • Coach and mentor employees on a one-to-one basis and in a group environment.
