DevOps Engineer

This is a new opportunity for a DevOps / Platform engineer to join a team of dedicated IT professionals delivering solutions into the organisation. This role is suitable for an experienced DevOps engineer with a strong technical background in cloud technologies, chiefly Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the architecture team to create low-level design documentation, based on the provided high-level designs.
  • Deliver cloud-based resources and services that implement the low-level designs.
  • Provide consultancy to the software engineering teams to deliver solutions, focussed on but not limited to Azure technologies.
  • Ensure delivered solution follows defined design process and company governance procedures and processes through design reviews.
  • Work with the Cloud Optimisation Analyst to identify areas of improvement to design, capacity, spend and security.
  • Through a mentoring process, provide technical guidance and support to less experienced members of IT as appropriate and when required.

Qualifications:

  • Public Cloud expertise, including IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Microservices, SaaS - particularly Azure.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code scripting languages such as Bicep / Terraform / ARM templates, PowerShell, AZ-CLI
  • Experience with securing/hardening cloud environments and resources.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps Yaml CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in implementing robust cloud solution architectures selecting appropriate services based on workload requirements (across storage, compute, networks, security, monitoring, automation, data, IaaS, PaaS, managed services, Serverless, Microservices, etc.).
  • Proven experience as an DevOps / Platform / Site Reliability engineer
  • Experience within an Agile / Iterative delivery environment.
