Description:

Our Distributel team is looking to hire a Dev Ops Monitoring Administrator.
Distributel, is part of Internet Companies Group (ICG), a division of Bell Canada serving both consumer and business needs across Canada.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal English, as you’ll deal with technically minded employees and non-technical colleagues alike.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Solid Linux skills are required for this position.
  • Experience with Logstash configuration for log parsing, filtering, and enrichment.
  • Proficient in Kibana for data visualization, dashboard creation, and advanced analytics. ((Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana)
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Perl, PHP, Python and Groovy Scripting Languages
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging best practices and tools, log management and analytics.
  • Solid understanding on Infrastructure and Application observability
  • Develop and maintain modern monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with Synthetic monitoring platform (Uptrends, Datadog, New Relic).
  • Understanding of Web server configurations (Apache, Nginx, IIS, Tomcat)
  • Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining network management software and hardware.
  • Monitoring network performance, including traffic, bandwidth, and devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that ICG’s Canada’s Network Monitoring environment is pro-actively, effectively, and efficiently monitored and maintained.
  • Capturing the performance of all network and customer elements to ensure that trouble events will be immediately identified and addressed by NOCC and support agents.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning!
  • Manage network servers and technology tools.
  • Participate in troubleshoot issues and outages.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
