JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Development CAD Operatorto join our Design and Development team, where you will work alongside your peers designing furniture in our purpose-built manufacturing facilities. This is where we proudly hand-make every single Duresta and Parker Knoll sofa and chair. Our sofas are an investment piece, and our consumers know they are buying a sofa designed with the values of enduring comfort and quality at its core.

Responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To create and maintain CAD cutting files.
  • To create CAD sewing drawings.
  • Using Gerber cutting machine for cutting development prototypes when required. Training will be provided.
  • To ensure that the company has the new models, completely production friendly, for when they show and introduce them.

DUTIES

  • Manage and operate the full running of the CAD system.
  • Responsible for checking upholsterers patterns.
  • Digitize and create new pattern pieces into the CAD system.
  • Responsible for generating all variants.
  • Create marker lengths for all variants for fabric and hide, so this information can be accessed via quality workbench for accounts SBL and purchasing.
  • Create cutting specifications for quality workbench for SBL to use.
  • Responsible for creating sewing drawing which are let-tered up this information is used by the NPD office to aid the creation of sewing specs which are then put on quality workbench for use in SBL and Gplan.
  • Responsible for creating lettered up mini markers, area specifications and perimeters for hide this information is then added to quality workbench by NPD office for use in Gplan and SBL.
  • Convert all markers into PLA format to be used on Gerber cutters in SBL.
  • Amend/Change CAD templates where required.
  • Ensure that all amendments/changes are on the CAD sys-tem and tracked via the change process.
  • To liaise with the NPD office on all new models and changes to maintain accurate information on quality workbench.
  • Responsible for sending cutting and sewing information to SBL and external suppliers to deadline.
  • Provide markers which have the optimum efficiency in ac-cordance with company guidelines. To minimise fabric us-age.
  • Owner of CAD operations process, responsible for adher-ence to process.
  • Owner of CAD amendments process, responsible for ad-herence to process.
  • Responsible for managing the CAD file structure.
  • To help set up and dismantle shows when required.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
  • To act as point of contact for printing of templates when required.
