Description:
TITLE: Development Director
PROFILE SOURCE: Administrative/Development Professional
DEPARTMENT: Resource Development
REPORTS TO: Senior Development Director/CEO

JOB DESCRIPTION
Annual Fund: Support all BGCTX Annual Fund activities including:
o Work with staff, volunteer board, and related community partners to manage, segment, and grow existing and new annual fund target audiences.
o Develop and manage digital solicitation strategies to promote monthly giving through e-newsletter distribution (Mailchimp), social media driven campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), BGCTX’s online giving platform (Harness), and other related peer 2 peer opportunities.
o Write, design, publish, and distribute direct mail appeal letters.
o Work with the BGCTX Marketing Coordinator to develop annual fund promotional materials and solicitation resources.
o In conjunction with the Senior Development Director; develop, launch, and manage online giving strategies and campaigns for BGCTX community Clubs via the Harness Reoccurring Giving Platform.
Grants: Research new grant funding opportunities from corporate and foundation prospects to support BGCTX development priorities. Coordinate with the Grants Management Team to develop and submit grant proposals.
Special Events: Lead/Assist BGCTX staff, Board members, Board committee members, and other volunteers with fundraising events (and other activities) to garner awareness and increase support.
Stewardship/Back Office: Support donor stewardship initiatives and donor database development (CRM). Coordinate appeal letters, thank you letters, and agency information correspondence to donors and supporters.
Social Media: Support the implementation of a social media strategy for BGCTX. Increase audience/engagement and maintain a consistent posting schedule for the BGCTX Facebook page and other related platforms.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, or combination of education and experience.
- Experience in relevant financial development and communications activities and a proven track record of accomplishment in this area is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all types of people.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
- Knowledge of accessing and utilizing donor data base.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Exposure to loud and excessive noise
