Description:

The West Essex Health and Care Partnership (WEHCP) is one of three place-based health and care partnerships of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (H&WE ICB). It brings together provider and commissioning organisations involved with improving the health, care and wellbeing of the population in West Essex and parts of North Hertfordshire.
The WEHCP vision is to help everyone in our area live long and healthy lives by supporting independence and providing seamless care .
As our Development Director, you will take the senior responsible officer role for the delivery of cross organisational integrated health and care programmes, including the development of strategy to improve population health outcomes, supporting the implementation of future models of care through:
More effective prevention of ill-health and reducing inequalities in access and outcomes.
Delivering against our out of hospital strategy working strategically with all system partners
An approach that seeks to maintain stability and prevent escalation to more acute levels of
Delivering sustainable integrated services effectively to ensure safe and seamless transition of citizens between
The development director is required to be highly flexible, operate with a high degree of autonomy and work using their own initiative as this is a developmental role setting up new operating structures without a clear template. The post holder will need to be a strong strategic thinker who can work across organisational boundaries and deliver outcomes through influence rather than direct line management. The post holder will need highly developed communication and relationship skills as many areas are likely to be contentious and will have significant barriers to overcome.
Whilst PAHT hosts this post, which reports to the director of strategy and estates and the West Essex place director, the role is a system wide role, working on behalf of all partners across the developing West Essex Health and Care Partnership.
Our core partners include Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT), Hertfordshire & West Essex ICB (HWE), Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), Essex County Council, primary care networks and three district councils. This is a partnership working together to take joint action to improve and integrate services to influence the wider determinants of health and broader social and economic development and to improve the sustainability of our health and care system.
