SUMMARY

Lightsource bp Germany is Berlin-based. As Development Manager / Projektleiter Photovoltaik, you will play an extremely important role in the exciting journey of establishing Lightsource bp’s presence in Germany and in your region. Lightsource bp is one of the largest solar developers in the world, already active in 18 markets around the globe. You will be working with extremely skilled and talented colleagues in a young, dynamic, international, and diverse company. We are looking for hands-on people who are as excited about the energy transition as we are. Ideally, you are based in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin. If not, remote working options are also available.
In your role, you will be responsible for developing large ground-mounted solar projects, collaborating with internal and external resources.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience of similar position delivering solar projects in Germany preferred
  • Good knowledge of the German market

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • Project management training preferred
  • Preferably some financial qualifications or training

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate, secure, develop, and track the development of large-scale ground-mounted solar farms: from the identification of sites, securing land, the building-plan process, until ready to build
  • Manage local stakeholders such as municipalities, landowners, authorities, agricultural coops, and farmers
  • Coordinate internal departments and external contractors
  • Evaluate and propose acquisition and partnership opportunities, and manage joint-venture development partners
  • Identify and analyse opportunities for the acquisition of photovoltaic projects, identify and manage technical and legal consultants and work closely with internal support functions
  • You will be working very closely with the head of your region, our GIS team, our land scouts, our environmental planners, our grid experts, and our PPA and finance teams, among others
  • We place high emphasis on developing solar farms in consensus with the local community
