Positions are now available to join the growing operations team as we develop a Greenfield mine in the vibrant Hunter Valley.
The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical engineering qualification (or currently in progress accompanied by a Mechanical trade certificate)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground coal mines
- Detailed knowledge of longwall technical and operational practices
- Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
Maxwell is now seeking an energetic and skilled Development Mechanical Engineer to be based at the Maxwell site, 10 minutes from the township of Muswellbrook. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, this is a key role in our site-based engineering team.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Key leadership role in the procurement and overhaul of development equipment.
- Leading role in site operational readiness for development operations.
- Manage the mechanical safety and compliance requirements of the development equipment.
- Technical lead (mechanical) for the equipment.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability through continuous improvement.
- Manage and coordinate the electrical resources to achieve production performance, process and maintenance targets.
- Development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
- Budget development and cost control.
- Support the Development Superintendent to ensure business targets are achieved.
