KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Alignment of solutions to design, documentation, development and infrastructure standards and practices
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in Azure cloud services
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, with operational business staff and management, external suppliers and customers
  • Adherence to ‘Infrastructure as Code’ guidelines and standards
  • Delivers quality to standards as required in annual objectives and SLAs
  • Demonstrate instrumental involvement in projects/solutions being delivered efficiently and on-time to Business Solutions standards in line with agreed objectives
  • 360º feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable improvements in speed, efficiency and environmental alignment for IAC deployed solutions

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Benefact Group, are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Gloucester based team on a hybrid basis. Initial 6 month contract, inside IR35.
The role holder will design, build and automate scalable infrastructure and monitoring solutions using ‘Infrastructure as Code’, acting as subject matter expert within Group Technology, complying with standards and best practices throughout the lifecycle, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned to guiding principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage on Infrastructure Automation work, either independently or with delivery partners (internal and external)
  • Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
  • Provide instruction (as required) to others with a view to improving the overall skillset within the team
  • Contribute to automation initiatives across all areas of the lifecycle requirements | build | deploy | test | monitoring
  • Documented promotion of configuration, code, and other artefacts between environments following the change control and release management processes
  • Be a guiding advocate in Ecclesiastical’s pursuit of cloud excellence. Not only in terms of automation but helping to ensure projects have landing zones that are secure, performant, reliable and cost effective
  • Provide handover documentation and skills transfer to other areas as required
  • Drive use of industry standard tools and techniques based on a knowledge of best practice
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and make recommendations for adoption
  • Positive influence on the team to establish and promote the right culture and behaviours
