DevOps Engineer

As the DevOps Engineer at EdgeUno, you will help our company for rapid growth and success. The perfect candidate for this role is someone who loves to troubleshoot and has excellent customer service skills. This person must be self-motivated and eager to support customers with their needs.
Automation is the only way we can continue to scale our growth. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who loves to automate things. Using Ansible, Puppet, Chef or something you brew yourself using Python, does not matter, we love automation. Working together with our other engineers in Latam supporting global infrastructure is a lot of fun. You will enjoy deploying & maintaining systems across our data centers using cPanel, WHCMS, Virtulazor, VMWare, OpenStack, Synology, and FreeNAS. Manage enterprise Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu), Unix, Windows Server and other application servers across multiple locations. Schedule installation, upgrades and maintain systems in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering from a four-year college or university; or 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience supporting 24x7, high availability application environments, servers, load balancing systems, and clustered shared storage solutions.
• Experience with System and Network Automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience with Python or a similar programming language.
• 1+ years of working knowledge in a DevOps environment.
• Familiarity with cloud-based solutions.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision and willingness to work extended hours if required.
• Possess a high degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in the telecom, hosting, data center, or internet service provider industry is a plus.
• Desirable experience with OpenStack, RPKI, DNSSEC, and IPv6.

• Lead the automation of day-to-day operations required to support our 1000+ customers.
• Design and deploy complex systems and network solutions that ensure 24x7 availability.
• Automate data backups and recovery operations in virtual environments.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of complex system problems in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Automate Hypervisor deployments.
• Build, maintain, and provide support for Synology storage systems.
• Maintain and upgrade operating systems across multiple platforms, including Windows, OSX, Linux, BSD, etc.
• Manage VMWare, Proxmox, and OpenStack virtualization environments.
• Conduct research and development of new technologies, and develop Proof of Concept demos.
• Create, maintain, and update all documentation, including procedures and training materials.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor, administer, and maintain the company’s platforms.
