As an Intermediate DevOps Engineer, you will be a vital component of our development and operations teams, focusing on optimizing our observability and operational practices within CloudNative environments, specifically through Prometheus and the LGTM Stack. You will own our observability stack, ensuring our services are monitored, scalable, and resilient. Your expertise will drive the effectiveness of our Kubernetes clusters, enhancing the performance and reliability of our cloud-native applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years in a DevOps role, with a demonstrated track record in CloudNative technologies and Kubernetes environments.
  • Expertise in Prometheus and the Grafana Labs Stack, with a proven ability to deploy, configure, and optimize these tools for observability.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, covering cluster management, networking, and security.
  • Proficiency in automation and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm).
  • Experienced with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and cloud architectural principles.
  • Skilled in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and integration tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and within a team.
  • Effective communication skills, adept at engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the management and optimization of our observability stack, with a significant focus on Prometheus for monitoring and the Grafana Labs Stack (LGTM) for visualizations, logging (Loki), and tracing (Tempo).
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable and efficient solutions within Kubernetes clusters, emphasizing the seamless integration of Prometheus and Grafana for comprehensive observability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to embed observability tools into the CI/CD pipeline, facilitating early detection and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct training sessions and create concise guides for developers on effectively using the LGTM stack (Prometheus and Grafana) to monitor their applications, emphasizing best practices for integration and real-time observability.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes, prioritizing the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Crossplane and Terraform
  • Implement and uphold cloud security best practices in partnership with the security team, ensuring a robust and secure operational environment.
  • Guide the design and review of cloud architectures, ensuring they support both current and future business requirements with an emphasis on observability and operational excellence.
  • Offer mentorship and expertise on CloudNative technologies to elevate team capabilities.
  • Engage in performance tuning and resource management to ensure efficient operation and adherence to SLAs.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in CloudNative technologies advocating for the adoption of innovations that drive value.
