Description:
DEVOPS ENGINEER
On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a DevOps Engineer for full-time permanent position in Calgary.
DevOps Engineer Requirements
- Bachelors or more advanced in Computer Science or related field.
- 3 years or more of experience as a DevOps or Systems Administrator experience
- Real world experience with DevOps practices and IT services management
- Proficient with containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and virtualization
- Strong knowledge of system administration in both Linux and Microsoft environments
- Strong knowledge of web and network protocols and standards (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
- Strong knowledge of security tools such as VPN, PKI, AuthNZ, auditd, firewalls, etc.
- Proficient in Python programming language and experience with scripting using Bash
- Experience with observability technologies such as Datadog, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Cloud formation
- Knowledge of release management practices, including versioning and branching (Git
Responsibilities:
- Manage and update existing corporate IT infrastructure, network, devices, and security.
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructure using simple, maintainable, and cost optimized solutions.
- Build custom tooling, as necessary, using various APIs and services to streamline infrastructure operations.
- Interface with various teams to help automate and simplify configuration management, environment provisioning, and application deployment using infrastructure as code.
- Continuously monitor production environments, including performance, to ensure high availability, security, and reliability of applications.
- Evaluate and implement cloud/IT orchestration tools to support evolving and growing needs of the company.
- Implement and enforce security compliance controls and monitoring standards such as SOC 2
