DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

Opreto Corporation is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) to to enhance our platform engineering capabilities for a telehealth videotelephony software service, and to infuse our development teams with best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
• Advanced experience in platform engineering and cloud architecture, particularly within AWS ecosystems.
• Proficiency in Terraform, CDK-TF, AWS CDK, and TypeScript.
• Expertise in multiple AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, etc.).
• A strong grasp of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• AWS certification (Associate level minimum; Professional or Specialty preferred).
• Proven ability to lead development teams towards self-sufficiency in IaC.
• Commitment to thorough documentation of processes, decisions, and systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with pair programming and mob programming techniques.
• Strong documentation habits covering all aspects of system operations, including post-mortems and cost analysis.

We’re looking for a candidate with demonstrated expertise in DevSecOps. Candidates should deeply understand AWS cloud services, security best practices, and performance optimization techniques. You should have advanced knowledge of cloud architecture principles and integration patterns. Candidates must be adept at designing, implementing, and scaling secure, complex, distributed systems in a cloud environment.
You should have the ability to quickly understand and work with a large and intricate codebase, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate and improve existing systems.
You must be a good writer and communicator. We work remotely, so the majority of our work and collaboration is written and/or voice chat.

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures with a focus on services like ECS, EC2, S3, CloudFront, WAF, and more.
• Lead the integration of Terraform and CDK-TF to manage infrastructure provisioning and compliance.
