Description:

An opportunity has arisen at The Dudley Group of Hospitals, Russells Hall Hospital for a motivated, conscientious Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic team. This is a fulltime post for 37.5 hours over 5 days,
The successful applicant will have a strong interest in diabetes and will have experience in a Diabetes- related environment.

THE POST HOLDER WILL: -

Work as part of the diabetes specialist nursing team, supporting consultant diabetologists and the wider Trust staff in the management, care and education of the patient with diabetes.
Be responsible for the assessment of diabetes patient care needs either at the front door or within the diabetes and endocrine centre. In addition, they are responsible for the development and implementation of service delivery in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team members, following agreed protocols and pathways.
Participate and contribute in developing specialist diabetes teaching packages for patients, nursing and non-nursing staff.
Support the Lead Nurse, Matron and Medical Head of Service in developing and monitoring diabetes services and the quality of care experienced by diabetic patients.
