Flexibility is key, as the role may require working across all sites within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Ideally, you’ll bring experience from an Imaging team and possess relevant qualifications to at least NVQ level II or equivalent.

Knowledge of the hospital booking systems, PAS, Sunquest Ice and CRIS would be an advantage but if not training will be provided.
The role will require training in booking specialities and in particular the job provides a booking and telephone enquiry service to the patients for a variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures. The role is office based at Stamford Hospital. You will be joining a dedicated team of individuals providing a vital service to the Diagnostic Imaging Booking Team. You may also be required to cover reception duties within Imaging on an occasional basis.
The bookings will cover a variety of areas including CT, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Ultrasound and DEXA, the work is therefore varied and interesting.
You need to be flexible, approachable, have good communication skills, with a polite telephone manner, and attention to detail.
Contracted hours of work to be agreed between 8.00am to 8.00pm (at present time office hours are between 8am – 5pm) .

Collate electronic referral forms in a timely manner and file into correct categories.
To ensure all paperwork, including patient’s previous imaging and notes where necessary, are available for the appointment and electronically track to correct location. This necessitates liaison with numerous Directorates including consultants’ secretaries, medical records and other trust hospitals regarding location of patient’s records and imaging.
Deal with emergency requests and allocate time slots after liaising with specific departments.
Allocate appointments for departments of Computerised Tomography Scanning, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, DEXA, Lithotripsy, Theatres, Urodynamic Studies, General Practitioner requests.
MRI and CT frequently requires highly complex bookings of Specialised Paediatric examinations requiring sedation and cannulation which have to be booked with children’s ward and require liaison with secretaries for notes and films.
Electronically book Ambulance Transport for patients as required.
Book Interpreters for persons of non-speaking English speaking patients and respect any cultural requests.
Frequently Email and query with requesting Consultants.
Contact other hospital and units as necessary ensuring confidentiality and security procedures are followed.
Need to constantly review the booking protocol to reflect patient pathways, e.g. cancer collaborative initiative
