Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Workshop Mechanic plays a crucial role in the Plant and Rebuild team, focusing on the rebuild and refurbishment of power generation engines. This role is tasked with the repairs, servicing, and rebuilding of both diesel and gas generators while adhering to company health and safety guidelines. Your responsibilities will include thorough inspections, performance testing, and maintaining detailed records. Additionally, you will provide insights to optimize engine performance, maintain a clean and organised work area, and contribute to fostering a culture of trust within the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute engine rebuilds, overhauls, and refurbishments according to company procedures and standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to assess the condition of components, identifying and documenting areas requiring repair or replacement.
- Conduct performance testing to validate the integrity and efficiency of rebuilt engines.
- Maintain detailed equipment and engine records in accordance with workshop procedures.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the Supervisor for optimizing engine performance and longevity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
- Adherence to company WHS policies and procedures; including Major Hazard Management Procedures ensuring workplace compliance and reporting hazards and near misses.
