    Role Overview.
    The Diesel Mechanic plays a crucial role in the Plant & Rebuild team, focusing on the rebuild and refurbishment of power generation engines. This role is tasked with the repairs, servicing, and rebuilding of both diesel and gas generators while adhering to company health and safety guidelines. As a key member of our team, you will execute engine rebuilds, overhauls, and refurbishments according to company procedures and standards. Your responsibilities will include thorough inspections, performance testing, and maintaining detailed records. Additionally, you will provide insights to optimize engine performance, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to fostering a culture of trust within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute engine rebuilds, overhauls, and refurbishments according to company procedures and standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to assess the condition of components, identifying and documenting areas requiring repair or replacement.
  • Conduct performance testing to validate the integrity and efficiency of rebuilt engines.
  • Maintain detailed equipment and engine records in accordance with workshop procedures.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Supervisor for optimizing engine performance and longevity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate Pacific Energy values in all your workplace relationships.
  • Adherence to company WHS policies and procedures; including Major Hazard Management Procedures ensuring workplace compliance and reporting hazards and near misses.

About You:

  • Mechanical trade qualification.
  • Engine reconditioning and maintenance experience.
  • Competency in delivering high-quality work in a workshop environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • C Class Driving License.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to build and maintain cohesive relationships.
  • Embrace and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
