Description:

An opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our Mental Health Allied Health team at Northern Beaches Hospital on a part time basis (15.2 hours/week). This healthcare facility provides psychiatric care to public and private patients with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional allied health teams, psychiatric nurses, doctors and support staff.
The successful Clinical Dietitian will make an impact by providing thorough nutrition assessment and intervention to mental health patients enabling them to meet their nutritional requirements for recovery and improve their health outcomes.

You will:

  • Provide a high standard of clinical care to admitted inpatients
  • Work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Provide dietary counselling and education to a variety of different mental health patient populations

Selection Criteria:

  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent that meets the requirements for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Minimum 2 years acute care clinical dietetics experience in Mental Health
  • Highly developed nutritional assessment and dietary counselling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice
