Description:

EXCAVATOR OPERATOR / DIGGER OPERATOR - AND / OR TRUCK DRIVER

Full time permanent Steel Digger operator is required for our busy company NZ Civil & Construction Limited. The minimum work will be 35 hours pw and maximum will be 45 hours pw. The minimum wage is $30.00 ph and maximum wages will be $35.00ph. There will be $45ph overtime payment. Candidate should pass a background check and be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident will be preferable and kindly mention if your are a resident or citizen of NZ.

  • Experience in Hydro Excavation and Liquid Waste Removal
  • operating controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, gouge out, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other materials
  • Experience in carting bulk liquids, and road range is an advantage
  • Are physically capable of operating high pressure water equipment
  • A mechanical aptitude
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • servicing, lubricating, cleaning and refuelling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
  • working from drawings, markers and verbal instructions
  • raising, lowering and manipulating attachments using manual and hydraulic controls

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2 years relevant experience

TRUCK DRIVER

NZ Civil & Construction Limited is looking for industry-leading truck drivers for their busy and growing business. The business is based in Auckland..
The minimum work hour will be 30 hours per week and maximum will be 48 hours per week. The minimum wages will be $30.00 ph and maximum wage will be $35.00ph. The overtime payment will be $45.00ph. We prefer New Zealand citizens and residents for the job. Please specify if you are a New Zealand resident or citizen.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2 years driving experience.
  • Clean driving history and pass a background check and be physically fit.
  • Able to pass initial and ongoing Drug tests.

Responsibilities:

  • loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
  • observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
  • making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
  • ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
  • verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
  • Follow customer site requirements.
  • Have customer service skills and be able to communicate with customers, staff & management
  • Be able to complete all admin tasks - filling in your timesheets & logbook We will offer
  • making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
  • estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
  • ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
  • Be able to stay away from home in truck for few nights when required
  • Must work on weekends
  • Be able to drive both auto and manual transmission including road ranger.
  • Should not hesitate to work early morning shifts and night shifts

  • There is no particular region, the applicant may require to drive different parts of the New Zealand.
  • Safely operate class 5 vehicles in compliance with all traffic and safety regulations
  • Transport goods and materials to and from various destinations.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections ensuring the vehicle’s maintenance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of deliveries, including any incidents or accidents.
  • Adhere to delivery schedules and routes.
  • Ensure proper handling and securement of cargo.
  • Collaborate with our logistics team to optimize delivery efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and interactions with clients.
  • Report any issues, defects or delays promptly.
