JOB DESCRIPTION

Division: Greater Sudbury Public Library
Department: Office of the Chief Administrative Officer
Initial Reporting Location: Main Library
Job Status: Limited Position - Funded Position (Young Canada Works)
Estimated Probable Duration: Until October 11, 2024
Affiliation: Inside Unit
Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly
Shift Work Required: n/a
Range of Pay: Group 1 - $18.01 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade X) Education.
• Up to six (6) months related experience.
• Ability to use a scanner and enter data.
• Knowledge of computer applications including Windows based systems (e.g. file maintenance and information input and retrieval).
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with people in a courteous and effective manner.
• Good use of English; verbally and in writing.
• Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.

FUNDING REQUIREMENTS:

A student may be eligible for employment if they:

• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible);
• are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
• are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment; and
• are a high school, college, CEGEP or university student.
• Must be willing to register with Young Canada Works
