    Are you a skilled Digital Delivery Technician, with Civil Engineering Qualifications as well as exposure to Geotech? Your opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure has arrived at SMEC South Africa, where we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation in BIM engineering. We’re searching for a top-notch Digital Delivery Modeller, to join our team of pioneers, innovators, and game-changers in our Cape Town office, Geotech Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform modelling and detailing tasks
  • Implement Revit, C3D, and Bentley software for the team
  • Develop Autodesk templates, libraries, and tools to maintain standards
  • Conduct programming within Autodesk using visual coding and automation techniques
  • Perform quality audits on outgoing drawings
  • Standardize all drawings on projects
  • Visualize 3D models of projects for presentations
  • Implement Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • Handle Autodesk troubleshooting and interface setup within the department
  • Participate in technical discussions and project delivery meetings
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical support to junior staff
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed design and modelling to prepare technical drawings and documentation
  • Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables
  • Apply a deep understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems
  • Maintain a high level of modelling expertise and engineering knowledge
  • Undertake supervisor roles and lead projects
  • Contribute to the overall management and profitability of the functional group
  • Ensure drawings and documentation meet the highest quality standards
  • Maintain client satisfaction
  • Adhere strictly to SMEC’s Management System (MS), quality standards, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures
  • Introduce Graduate Engineers to in-house standards and practical application of tasks and construction techniques
  • Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions

Recommended Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Professional Registration in Draughting (Autodesk Certified)
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in similar position
  • Proficiency in Revit, C3D, Bentley and any other discipline-associated software essential
  • BIM360/ ACC and ProjectWise Proficiency
  • Modelling and detailing to required LOD outlined in BEP
  • Experience working on major infrastructure/ building projects
  • Ability to work well within team and positive attitude to your work
  • Strive to deliver projects on time and to budget
