Description:
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a skilled Digital Integrated Circuit Design Engineer to strengthen our RFIC design team with expertise in RF IC digital circuits (register interfaces, look-up tables, complex digital state machines, fractional sample rate conversion, digital interfaces) to be integrated in our leading edge 5G RFIC chips.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of digital integrated circuit design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in hardware description languages, such as Verilog and SystemVerilog, for design and verification of digital circuits.
- Experience in designing complex state-machines, digital high-speed interfaces and control interfaces.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for simulation
- Basics of state-of-the-art digital verification methodologies
- Profound understanding of digital synthesis and place and route for effective collaboration with the digital physical implementation team
- Definition of timing constraints for synthesis and analysis of timing reports
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex design issues.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (such as Python or TCL) for design automation and design flows.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of techniques for minimizing digital noise coupling to analog circuits and vice versa.
- Proficiency in simulating and analyzing the interaction between digital and analog circuits.
- Familiarity with analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and their interfaces with digital circuits.
- Familiarity with RF circuit design concepts, including RF front-end, power amplifiers, and low-noise amplifiers is a plus.
- 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities:
As Digital IC Design Engineer, you will
- Design and implement complex digital state-machines, fractional sample rate conversion, digital high speed interfaces and digital control interfaces for RF ICs.
- Collaborate with RF designers and system architects to understand design requirements, performance targets, and specifications.
- Develop detailed specifications and architectural designs for the digital control circuits.
- Implement digital control circuits using SystemVerilog hardware description language and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Perform functional verification for block-level design.
- Prepare constraints for hand-over to the digital backend team (synthesis, place and route).
- Collaborate with verification engineers to develop a verification plan, test benches and verify the functionality of the digital integrated circuits.
- Work closely with layout designers to optimize the layout and ensure signal integrity for the digital circuits.
- Conduct design reviews and participate in cross-functional team meetings to ensure design integrity and feasibility.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design and verification methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Document design processes, methodologies, and results for internal and external stakeholders.
