The Opportunity
Cochlear has created this new opportunity for a Digital Learning Specialist to join our expanding R&D Team, to lead the creation of digital learning solutions and associated Learning Pathways for R&D staff globally. The role offers the scope and autonomy to develop creative, engaging solutions that are informative and well structured.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning process and guidelines for the creation of content for an existing Wiki and other learning solutions
  • Identify areas of priority for content development in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Obtain input from technical resources to relevant content and translate this content so it can be understood by target R&D audiences
  • Ensure learning content is engaging, concise, consistent in style and well maintained as a source of technical knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain the R&D Learning Pathway, including leading the planning and structure of this pathway in Cochlear’s Learning Academy
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to create quizzes for each topic in the R&D learning pathway, to validate employees’ completion of each topic.

About You

As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory, and training evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills, as well as 3+ years’ experience in digital learning solutions design
  • A track record of developing creative, engaging technical content
  • Experience in making videos, blogs and quizzes in ‘Confluence’ or similar application
  • Experience working with engineering or similar technical teams and working with technical content - highly desirable
  • Past experience working in the medical devices or pharmaceutical industries will be well regarded, as will experience working in large multi-national organisations
  • A strong self-starter, with the ability to motivate others and manage daily activities with minimal supervision
