DIGITAL MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Reports To: Director, Marketing and Communications
Status: Full-Time (37.5 hours/ week – Monday to Friday)
Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Salary: $70,207 to $75,990
POSITION SUMMARY
- Align the website with the organization’s brand, strategy and standards
- Audit content and remove duplicate information
- Assist with social media campaigns and other marketing efforts
- Complete tests to ensure website efficiency and quality
- Create strategies to improve website traffic
- Develop website content to support organizational goals and strategies
- Ensure the website complies with the appropriate laws and regulations (Accessibility, Official Languages Act)
- Evaluate website performance using website analytics and produce reports
- Evaluate competitors’ websites
- Identify ways to improve website user experience and implement industry best practices
- Implement security measures to protect the website
- Keep the website’s domain and hosting registration current
- Manage pay-per-click and search engine optimization campaigns
- Monitor for website security breaches and respond to them as needed
- Plan, create, implement, manage, monitor and update website
- Produce sitemaps that represent and visualize the website’s structure and functions
- Reply to, troubleshoot and resolve website issues
- Update website coding
- Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- University or college degree in marketing and/or communications
- 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing department or agency
- Interested in social issues and the mental health cause
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Content management systems (CMS)
- Copyright regulations
Responsibilities:
MHCC is hiring a Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist to provide dedicated and focused website management and marketing and communications support. The specialist will oversee the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the MHCC website and perform a range of marketing and website development tasks to ensure the effective functioning of website and that users can navigate the site easily. The successful candidate will be expected to respond to security issues, troubleshoot and resolve a variety of website performance problems. They will also ensure that the website has an accurate and current domain and hosting information to prevent potential downtimes.
The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will work within the MHCC Marketing and Communications team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the online presence and online marketing strategy aimed at growing awareness. In collaboration with the Manager of Communications, the Social Media Specialist and the program managers, the Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will be responsible for the execution of marketing, communications and content marketing efforts.
This position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, at the Mental Health Commission’s Head Office. This is a hybrid role with an in-office attendance requirement.
