We’re Aegon - a company of ambitious, collaborative, problem-solvers who get things done. We strive to make sure everyone that works for us feel seen, heard, and valued – so we’re looking for like-minded people to join us. We have three behaviours that are central to how we operate as a team and a business: we step up, we tune in and we’re a force for good.
We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.
Aegon’s Distribution and Marketing division achieves commercial outcomes by promoting the brand, products, and services. The Marketing function is responsible for innovating, developing, and delivering propositions to adviser, employer, and customer audiences.
As Digital Marketing Developer, you will play a crucial part in the day-to-day digital operations of our public web presence. Specialising in web estate management, you will bring expertise in personalisation and possess in-depth knowledge of CSS, HTML, and Bootstrap. The primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth functioning of our public-facing web estate, impacting both end users and Operations through exceptional customer service. This position is integral to the organisation’s digital strategy, combining technical proficiency with strategic insight to drive impactful and efficient digital operations.
In this role, you will establish and maintain website development and digital processes, focusing on robust incident reporting and the timely delivery of technical resolutions. The emphasis is on maximising the impact of digital content through engaging branding and innovative technical solutions. The candidate will contribute to the optimisation of digital processes to ensure efficiency and excellence, supporting the overall enhancement of the web estate.
Additionally, the role involves actively assisting the Digital Operations team in the delivery of digital projects and providing support to the broader department with content updates. The candidate will also play a crucial role in stakeholder consultancy for digital build and engagement, offering guidance on digital media and front-end development.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Full HTML and CSS knowledge
  • Experience of Adobe Experience Manager (or a Content Management System), and Adobe services (Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Launch)
  • Excellent knowledge of Bootstrap and understanding of device optimisation
  • Good knowledge of W3C web standards, accessibility and compatibility rules
  • Experience working in a digital function
  • Experience in creating reporting and monitoring digital systems
  • Good understanding of UX principles, tool, methodologies and trends
  • Understanding of usability techniques, experience of producing documentation and bug fixing methods

It’d also be great – but not essential - if you’ve got:

  • Good knowledge of website analytics
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies, including Agile development
  • Understanding of SEO techniques and best practices

What’s in it for you?

  • A competitive salary from £29,840–£37,300, depending on the experience you can bring
  • A non-contributory pension between 8%-12%
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.
