Description:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Qualified to degree level, which is digital marketing related and at least five years’ experience in digital communications and marketing, in a similar role, ideally within the non-profit sector.
  • Highly experienced in using Content Management Systems (advantage: kontent.ai). Propensity to learn new applications quickly and to a high level of competence.
  • Highly experienced in the use of social media for professional use, e.g., X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and social media management tools, including substantial experience of acting as an Editor/Deputy Editor within a social media and web context essential.
  • Good analytical skills, including web analytics.
  • Highly numerate with good data analysis/ insight skills and experience in preparing reports to build understanding of user behaviour.
  • Experience in SEM and setting up /developing search and display campaigns.
  • Ability to plan well, work to deadlines, prioritise tasks and cope with pressure at times.
  • Able to juggle hands on delivery and reviewing work of others.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting the delivery of integrated campaigns and innovative communication strategies using digital marketing channels.
  • Excellent content, copywriting and creative skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite essential and experience in Photoshop will be an advantage.
  • A proactive, flexible and friendly manner, with good team-working skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on limited occasions.
  • Desirable, but not essential: Experience in using Drupal CMS and basic HTML/coding skills.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively regarding the long-term development of an organisation’s digital marketing work and activities.
  • Good knowledge of relationship database technology and its application in a digital marketing context.
  • Highly numerate, with solid data analysis/insight skills, including Google Analytics, to enable a good understanding of user behaviour.
  • Demonstrable previous success with SEO/PPC and setting up /developing Google Ads.
  • Good IT skills and computer literacy.
  • People Management skills
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written reports on digital marketing matters for internal management purposes.
  • Desirable, but not essential: good understanding and ideally, the experience of UX strategy and design principles

Responsibilities:

To implement the digital marketing aspects of the marketing and communications annual plan (and as relevant, global / international activity) and working closely with the Website Manager, in the planning and implementation of agreed plans and activities covering the following key activity areas:

  • Grow the online community and nurture influencer support through social media in the ZA.
  • To source and manage external agencies and suppliers (liaising closely with the Head of Corporate Communications) developing and maintaining strong relationships and ensuring the best value for money.
  • Oversee the development of imaginative digital resources such as short films, infographics, and digital banners.
  • Keep up to date with developments and learnings in the field.
  • Keep up to date with innovative social media development
  • Project Manage the development of the website and active involvement in the global website redevelopment project, ensuring that the needs of the organisation are fully met and represented.
  • Proactively propose new ways (and oversee digital activity) to recruit volunteers, money donations and patient appeals/drives and ensuring, that the website is always state-of-the-art.
  • Generate new content (in collaboration with the content developer) and deliver website changes.
  • Keep up to date with innovative digital marketing developments and share learnings with the Marketing & Communications Team.
  • Take the sole lead on the web analytic tools to measure, analyse and report on the digital impact of integrated marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Take the sole lead on the implementation and development of SEO/SEM, PPC, and Google Ads and ensure they are effectively implemented.
  • Analyse trends to identify new opportunities and improve campaign performance.
  • Manager social media channels, working hand in hand with content creators and other departments, proof-reading copy, responding to comments and helping to plan and implement social media initiatives.
  • Liaise with global counterpart and maintain a close working relationship.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Head of Department.
