About the role
The APS5 Digital Media Producer will be required to undertake activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. It will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that support and contribute to the department.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Producing video content in accordance with the Department Video Style and Brand Guidelines, for distribution across a range of digital platforms.
  • Managing technical production requirements including camera operation, lighting and sound recording.
  • Organizing and directing shoots including interviewing Department participants, staff and members of the public.
  • Completing post-production tasks including video editing using Adobe and Premiere Pro, motion graphics (Adobe After Effects), colour grading, media encoding and platform delivery.
  • Providing technical and creative advice, supporting the pre-production process.
  • Managing the Department’s content storage and archiving.
  • Supporting the development and management of the Department Video Recording Studio.

Key Skills required for the role:

  • Advanced Professional Video / 4K camera operation- including in a Studio environment.
  • High Level audio capture skills using all types of microphones (cabled, wireless)
  • Advanced multi-cam video editing skills- using Adobe Creative suite software
  • Advanced video brief preparation skills- ability to ideate and detail creative ideas
  • In depth knowledge of video production workflows and video publishing standards and formats

Desirable skills to have for the role

  • Ability to ideate and detail creative ideas for video
  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced animation skills using Premiere and After effects.
  • The team currently works from home Monday through Thursday, with everyone in the office on Friday. This is looking to increase to a second day in the office in the near future.
  • Main software used by the team is Adobe, but we are open to talk to candidates experienced with other programs.
  • The Department feels that video is one of the most accessible forms of media for people with a disability. This role will help deliver on our commitment to delivering accessible content, rather than fast moving or‘flashy’ graphics.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Media or Marketing
