As an intermediate Cloud Analyst specializing in AWS, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing Cloud infrastructure technology. Your responsibilities will include architecting/designing and deploying all Cloud and on-premise infrastructure with a focus on AWS services to ensure the required uptime SLA is achieved. You’ll collaborate with a variety of application support teams for various projects, adhering to architecture best practices to deploy standardized and resilient systems and services across all environments. Troubleshooting deployment issues, analyzing logging information, and requesting cloud automation enhancements will be part of your tasks. Collaborating with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes will be essential.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Computer Science degree, or Technical College diploma
  • 5+ years IT operations and / or IT project execution experience including comprehensive, including in-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services
  • Intermediate level ability to implement/troubleshooting AWS networking and connect to Azure/on-premise servers/services
  • General knowledge of Windows server operating systems, VMWare, RHEL, and storage technology
  • Hands-on experience in provisioning and configuration including:
  • 3-5 years within AWS cloud platform and VMware
  • 1-3 years with containers (preferably OpenShift or Kubernetes)
  • 1-3 years of coding automation (preferably with Terraform)
  • Extensive expertise in public and private cloud environments, IT infrastructure operations (server/workload, storage/data protection, networks), for various cloud service models

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains operations, as well as, architecting/designing/deploying into AWS
  • Drives the development and architecture review of cloud services, policies, and processes, and champion continuous improvement
  • Monitor and support the evolution of cloud adoption through effective engagement with IT Projects, IT Operations, and key business stakeholders
  • Mature Suncor’s cloud services using best practices around CI/CD, Microservices, or other means to enhance reliability while assuring cybersecurity, costs, and compliance
  • Updating tracking and ticketing toolsets including ServiceNow for incident/problem/change management, Jira for work tracking. Power BI, and Power Automate would be considered advantageous

Location and other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
  • There will be an on-call component to this role
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
