Description:

DIGITAL SALES STRATEGIST – CUMULUS MEDIA

Cumulus Media | (Knoxville / Memphis) has an immediate opening for a full time Digital Sales Strategist. The ideal candidate will partner with the local sales team to maximize digital revenue growth across new and existing accounts. The Digital Sales Strategist will serve as a digital subject matter expert, supporting both the sales process and account management efforts. Specifically, this strategic position will help identify upsell opportunities across the existing account portfolio and partner with sellers to grow digital revenue through new business development. You will leverage your digital marketing expertise to recommend and pitch effective solutions to meet the marketing needs of our clients through the integration of digital products and services to coincide with our robust radio asset offerings. In addition, the Digital Sales Strategist will provide ongoing strategy, product support, and digital education to improve sales team knowledge and confidence in presenting digital solutions. The Digital Sales Strategist will report directly to the Director of Digital Sales.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of digital sales, marketing, or advertising experience required, media industry exposure a plus.
  • Experience selling and managing digital marketing solutions for local and regional advertisers.
  • Experience with leading digital platforms such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads, etc.
  • Experience developing effective digital marketing strategies to accomplish advertiser goals.
  • Solid understanding of the entire business-to-business sales process: pipelines, lead/revenue generation, successful closing processes, cross platform solutions, etc.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required, as are strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and solve client issues successfully.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a team player, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external clients equally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve digital revenue budget through support and implementation of digital sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with local management to establish digital priorities and expectations for local sales team.
  • Support sales staff by participating in client needs assessment and client pitch meetings.
  • Assist in developing client proposals.
  • Become a subject-matter expert of Company digital marketing/advertising platforms and offerings.
  • Step up as an effective external consultant and internal trainer on Cumulus’ digital tactics, benefits, and trends.
  • Analyze existing customer base to identify upsell opportunities and collaborate with account executives to develop sales strategy.
  • Participate in account management and renewal efforts as needed.
  • Collaborate daily – maintain high levels of communication both internally with station and corporate teams, as well as externally with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide the sales team with ongoing digital education through coaching and training.
  • Other duties and special initiatives as assigned.
