Description:

The Bedded Unit Digitisation project will deliver the Trust’s ambitious vision for the Bedded Services to transition to digitised clinical workflows for our staff to use resources to access the information they need to make better informed clinical decisions.
This is a joint project between CLCH and our IT delivery partner, Capita, to deliver to the Trust a fully functional EPR clinical system. The development of the Trusts clinical systems, SystmOne and EMIS Web, will replace paper processes which are currently used.
The Bedded Unit Digitisation Clinical Lead will be a practicing clinician who is able to provide the clinical leadership of the Project to our Divisional Leads. The postholder will be skilled in working with a range of stakeholders including Chiefs of Service, Divisional Directors of Operations, Divisional Directors of Nursing and Therapies, Senior Clinical leads, Clinical Service Unit managers and operational staff.
Be a highly skilled and experienced senior clinician who is able to establish and control their own workload and set their own agenda.
Work as part of the IMT Capital Programme to clinically lead the delivery of the Bedded Unit Digitisation project within CLCH’s adult bedded services.
Provide clinical leadership to the Bedded Unit Digitisation programme aimed at embedding the technology within clinical practice across all appropriate specialities.
To work with the CSU managers, Divisional Directors and operational leads to ensure that the Bedded Unit Digitisation project is implemented in a safe and clinically effective way in all the clinical teams.
To participate in the Bedded Unit Digitisation project board, the relevant operational meetings and relevant technical meetings.
Build on established development work around the use of bedded unit digitisation and lead on the development of innovative uses of bedded unit digitisation as appropriate, and in collaboration with pathway and clinical leads
Develop and adjust long term plans to reflect updates and amendments to the bedded unit digitisation programme or developments in technology or service provision during the lifespan of the programme.
Ensure all programme/project documentation is completed effectively and maintained appropriately.

1. To ensure that any new processes put in place result in an improved patient experience and safety.
2. Using project and change management expertise lead on the use of bedded unit digitisation in the redesign of services to improve access to services for patients, relatives and carers. Use continuous Improvement methodology as a basis for the implementation.
3. To ensure that bedded unit digitisation transformation programme fits in and complements other service improvement initiatives.
4. To provide expert advice both of a highly complex and straightforward nature on service redesigns through embracing bedded unit digitisation technology and to attend meetings to promote service redesign. This will include leading in discussions with both primary and secondary care services and attendance at stakeholder meetings and using highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Operating to a matrix management model with IM&T and other functions across CLCH, negotiate with divisional transformation lead and CSU managers through the bedded unit digitisation project board and operational board to influence technology adoption and innovation
