Responsibilities:

YOUR NEW ROLE WILL BE

This person will be responsible for leading our purchasing functions and responsible of forecasting, inventory planning and procurement. This role is a key liaison with our suppliers, service providers and internal customers.

THE MAIN ACTIVITIES YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Ensure that our suppliers fulfil their requirements when it comes to quality, delivery performance, ethical standards and reduction of lead times allowing us to continuously achieve improve our material total cost of ownership and that will support our ambitions
  • Support our Sales and Engineering team to prepare the most competitive quotations to ensure we achieve the highest possible hit rate and cooperate with our Engineering and Contracts teams during the projects to safeguard and improve product cost.
  • Select with the logistic team the most optimal supply chain choices (eg. Re-order point, supplier managed inventory, MRP) to reach timely availability of components with high reliability and optimized inventory levels and cash flow.
  • Analyze and develop sourcing strategies for each individual commodity and participate to the Product Development activities to continuously improve our product offering.
  • Lead and manage the purchasing function and activities based on accurate and objective KPIs
  • Manage company fleet vehicle services and supervise mobile service provisions nationwide
  • Implement RFP process for building and renovation projects around all provinces in Canada
  • Supervise facility Management of buildings in Montreal and oversee building leasing (rental) management and renovation projects
  • Strategically source capital equipment for Canadian locations
  • Manage purchasing team for direct and indirect procurement services and make sure that our indirect purchasing provides the highest quality of materials and services for the most competitive price with activities including logistics, packaging, utilities, and professional services
  • Audit internal job activities processes and external branch office processes in accordance with ISO standards
  • Audit business partner practices in compliance with accepted quality, environment and health & safety requirements and see to that the quality system as well as the quality activities at the suppliers are up to standard
  • Manage SAP and SRM purchasing platforms

WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN YOUR NEW ROLE

  • You possess a bachelor’s degree in administration, Finance, GOP, Engineering or Purchasing (APICS)
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a purchasing role (inventory management, control systems, purchasing, distributions and logistics…)
  • You are fluent in English & French (speaking and writing)
  • Experience working in an ERP environment
  • You are an independent self-starter, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • You are comfortable with modern IT tools. Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Atlas Copco product knowledge is an asset
  • Member of the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is an asset
