Description:

NI is a key part of Emerson’s new Test & Measurement Business Group and our team has the unique opportunity to grow the software, control and intelligent devices of Emerson. As Director & General Manager of NI’s Battery Solutions Business, this individual has responsibility for the achievement of P&L objectives and to grow the battery validation business profitability. This person should be proficient in creating and executing a growth strategy and motivating their organization to deliver outstanding results. NI’s Battery Solutions business primarily consists of integrating battery test solutions in customer validation facilities. These complex systems consist of application and laboratory management software, high-precision measurement hardware, environmental chambers and power electronics. A broad global understanding of major transportation customers is necessary both for business alignment and education of the cross functional team.
This leader will align a cross functional team of procurement, finance, engineering, program management, IT, offering management and business functions to the goals of the Battery Solutions Business and reports this to the Vice President of the Transportation Business Unit

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability in the Test & Measurement industry
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through a transformation with an aligned vision and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate a vision and guide teams through clear implementation plans
  • Analytical and technical leader with the ability to measure the performance of programs and enable revenue growth
  • External brand ambassador and thought leader
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and profitability for the Transportation Business Unit
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Transportation customers for long term partnerships
  • Set financial targets and goals, and ensure they are met or exceeded
  • Drive VA/VE and standardization efforts to reduce engineering efforts and optimize COGS
  • Industry insight & leadership in the transportation industry
  • Ensure customer and supplier contractual terms align with Emerson
  • Prioritize capacity of team on strategic customers with long term partnership growth ambition
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders, including BU leadership team, customers and partners
