The Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) is a joint initiative of the Australian and New Zealand Police Commissioners, hosted by Victoria Police. ANZPAA works in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand police jurisdictions and key partner agencies to develop, promote and advise on current policing priorities to position policing for the future.
The Director reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ANZPAA and is part of the ANZPAA Executive Leadership Team. The Director leads several multi-discipline teams of circa 30 staff, to ensure the effective delivery of cross-jurisdictional policy development, advice and research to help achieve excellence in Australia and New Zealand Policing.
REQUIREMENTS AND RELEVANT INFORMATION:
- A Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or New Zealand Citizen (Who have unrestricted rights to employment in Australia) and be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
- The position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment security checks which will include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- Candidates may be required to undertake psychometric testing.
- Interviews are expected to take place in late July 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Providing active strategic leadership to support the CEO in the delivery of the ANZPAA Strategy and outcomes expected of the agency.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and partners to identify cross-jurisdictional priorities for policing in Australia and New Zealand.
- Develop complex funding proposals, budgets and business plans to support work programs consistent with organisational policies.
- Maintain knowledge on national, regional and international trends, and issues impacting policing in Australia and New Zealand.
- Effectively lead and manage the Directorate’s human and other resources and monitor performance to ensure the achievement of results.
